Calling from the Wilderness
Carol Robison -- December 10, 2017
Scriptures for today:
Carol Robison first began attending FCCO in the fall of 2008, she didn't know that she was searching for a new church home. She never felt at home in any church before. She was instantly drawn to the free and open worship in this place. What she has found through staying here amidst the ups and downs of church life is a community that is willing to stay in relationship, wrestling with each other across differences, and at the same time seeking God's will for us and the power to carry that out.
Carol believes in the liberating power of Jesus who teaches us how to live into love of community over the destructive forces of individualism and neo-liberalism. She is a deacon at FCCO; serves on the Worship & the Arts Team; an she is a member of Second Acts, a Christian Affinity Direct Action group.
Carol is also an altarist, who experiences God’s presence in the creation of church altars and guerrilla altars for actions and other happenings. She holds an MFA in creative writing and enjoys writing of all kinds, and feels honored and humbled to bring the Word this Sunday.
