Rev. John Oda is an Ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church. He holds an M.Div from San Francisco Theological Seminary and an M.S.W. from UC Berkeley.

Rev. John is also a recipient of the Bishop Melvin Talbert Racial Justice Award of the UMC Cal Nevada Conference, the Spirit of Solidarity Award from the American Muslim Voice, and he received a Special Commendation from the SF Board of Supervisors in 2008. He is also a member of and Chair of the Reconciling Ministries Network Board of Directors; PFLAG, National Board of Directors; Advocacy and Leadership Board of Directors, Asian Pacific Partners for Empowerment; and is a member of the UMC Cal Nevada Board of Ordained Ministry. He also serves as Adjunct Faculty at the Pacific School of Religion.

In his spare time John loves to work out, hang out with his 15 year old daughter, read and watch science fiction action movies with spiritual overtones.
