Some of Annie's earliest memories are of Sunday School at Hollywood Presbyterian Church. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Annie was active in the Presbyterian Church attending Sunday School, Youth Group, singing in choir, and as an adult serving in various leadership capacities.
In 1989, Annie moved with her family to the Bay Area so Annie could attend San Francisco Theological Seminary, part of the GTU, in San Anselmo. Annie graduated and was ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in 1993.
Annie left the Presbyterian Church to become a member of the United Church of Christ in 2005. She has served in a variety of ministerial settings, including Chaplain, Solo Pastor, Associate Pastor, Acting Head of Staff, Evangelist for That All May Freely Serve, Interim Pastor and Spiritual Director.
Currently Annie is working as a Spiritual Director for her ministry named Poiesis Spiritual Direction-Spiritual Direction with the Expressive Arts.
In the July 2013 Congregational Forum, the Members called Rev. Annie to the Pastoral Triad, and in February 2014, the UCC installed her as Pastor of First Congregational Church of Oakland.
Annie loves to make art, make music, cook and bake, cultivate her garden and read mysteries. Annie lives with her wife Victoria in Berkeley with their dog, four cats, one bird and two lizards.
Between them Annie and Victoria have four children, ranging in age from 34 to 16, a daughter-in law, a son-in-law and one wonderful granddaughter.
