The Longing Underneath
Carol Robison -- July 21, 2013
Scriptures for today:
When Carol Robison first started attending FCCO in the fall of 2008, she didn't know that she was searching for a new church home. She never felt at home in any church before. She was instantly drawn to the free and open worship in this place. What she has found through staying here amidst the ups and downs of church life is a community that is willing to stay in relationship, wrestling with each other across differences, and at the same time seeking God's will for us and the power to carry that out.
Carol is a deacon and serves on the Worship & the Arts and Discernment Teams. She receives particular joy in the creation of the altar for worship most weeks.
She has an MFA in creative writing but is not a sermon writer. This sermon is what happened when she was asked to preach and said yes, and she is humbled and honored to do so.
