Georgia Chambers is a member “in-discernment” for ordained ministry with First Congregational Church of Oakland, where love truly is FIRST! As a native Texan, Georgia has also lived, worked and played in California, which she considers to be her “spiritual” home. She was reared in the Southern Baptist faith. As life progressed, she affiliated with the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (MCC) and developed a richer faith in God. As Georgia continued to grow in faith and become a social justice activist, she affiliated with her home church, First Congregational Church UCC in Oakland, California in 2009. Georgia earned her Master of Divinity degree from Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. She has attained a Master of Arts degree in Education from Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Huston-Tillotson College in Austin, Texas. Currently, Georgia is a Chaplain Resident at a local hospital in Houston, Texas where she resides with her beloved spouse and handsome dog.
