Georgia Chambers is an “In-Care” seminarian with First Congregational Church of Oakland, where love truly is FIRST! Georgia is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. She plans to graduate in May 2012.

As a native Texan, Georgia has also lived, worked and played in California, which she considers to be her “spiritual” home. She was reared in the Southern Baptist faith. As life progressed, she affiliated with the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (MCC) and developed a richer faith in God. As Georgia continued to grow in faith and become a social justice activist, she affiliated with her home church, First Congregational Church UCC in Oakland, California.

Georgia has attained a Master of Arts degree in Education from Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Huston-Tillotson College in Austin, Texas. Secularly, she has spent many decades working in the field of Mental Health in various capacities. On behalf of the states of Texas and California, Georgia has most recently, functioned as a professional public school educator. She teaches all level core subjects, but her passion has been teaching Special education at the Middle school level.
