Angela Jernigan Farrell has recently made formal her membership with First Congo after a long and sweet courtship with this church. She is a spiritual director and writer, currently "pausing" her professional work in order to focus her love and attention on her one year old daughter, Leah.
Angela has a deep appreciation for attending to the internal life of the soul, and is equally passionate about attending to and shaping our collective life together. She has a particular passion for studying and creating "just" systems and institutions. In 2005, Angela received her M. Div. at the Graduate Theological Union and then pursued further study in Christian contemplative listening at the San Francisco Theological Seminary.
Before these years of study, Angela spent ten years working in the non-profit sector, doing public policy research and program implementation for poor and marginalized young people. She also worked briefly as a chaplain in Juvenile Hall.
